One stormy night a young girl was driving home from
soccer practice. The main road was
closed, so she had to take a back road through the woods. She was a little bit nervous because she didn't know that way too well, but it was her only option. As she was driving home, she noticed a truck
behind her flash its lights at her. It
was a little disconcerting, but she didn't make too much of it. A few minutes later, the man in the truck,
still following her, flashed his lights again.
“What is he doing?” thought the girl.
Her mind turned to a story she had heard on the news earlier about a
serial killer that had been seen in a nearby town. She decided something was not right about the
truck and she needed to get away from him.
She took the nearest turn down a back road, but the truck followed. She kept turning down back roads, but the
truck kept following her and he kept flashing his lights at her periodically. Now she was really scared. It must be the serial killer in the truck,
just messing with her before he gets her.
Why else would someone just follow her around, flashing their
lights? She thought about doing
something, but there was nothing that she could do. Besides, she was getting close to home. She would just pull up and run inside and
call the police and tell them a serial killer was following her around. When she pulled into her driveway though, the
truck was still following her. She got
out of the car and turned and ran inside, but just as she neared the door she heard
a gun fire. She turned around and saw a
man lying on the ground behind. “Are you
alright?” said a voice from the shadows in the distance. “Don’t hurt me!”
screamed the girl. “Hurt you? I just
saved your life.” He explained how he
was the man in the truck following her around flashing his lights. The serial killer was actually in the back of
her car the whole time and he was flashing his lights to try to get her
attention.
