Nightmare

Once upon a time a young boy went to sleep the night before Halloween just like any night he did. He awoken the next morning and went about his regular routine that he was accustomed to. While waiting for the bus to take him to school he realized something wasn’t quite right. The neighbors and others he saw were dressed up in costumes. Now he was thinking that this can’t be normal. Why would parents be dressed up, parents never dress up for Halloween? The bus pulls up to take the boy to school and when the doors opens a shock goes through his body as he sees the driver. Covered with wrinkles, dressed in black, wearing a pointed hat, and having a broom at her side while driving, the bus driver frightened the boy. He stood there in shock and slowly walked up the steps of the bus not knowing where the usual bus driver was. He looked through each seat on the bus finding a different scary face. The driver then asks in a screechy, frail voice, “Are you not going to sit down?” He then ran off of the bus and back into his house while locking every door as fast as he could. He stayed in his room all day while coming to the realization that he was stuck in a world of monsters, witches, and other Halloween scares. As the day went on he thought and thought about what he could possibly do. Soon night came and monsters were everywhere as he peaked out of the window from behind the curtain. He then heard a noise come from a bedroom inside of the house. It sounded like the creaking of a door opening but he wasn’t really sure so he went to look. A door that had been locked was now open and a slight breeze coming through. Suddenly the door slammed shut for no reason and the boy took off running only to run into someone that was previously not there. He looked and saw the witch that had been the bus driver that morning. She tries to grab him and he runs out of her grasp. He runs to his room and locks the door. The sound of footsteps leads up to his door and there is a knock. The door opens slowly somehow even though it was locked. The boy is now under the covers hiding. All of a sudden he feels fingers grab him and he starts to be shaken furiously. The witch asks, “Are you not going to school?” over and over. The boy throws off the bed cover to scream stop it only to find his has awaken from a nightmare to his mother gently tapping him asking, ”Are you going to school?”
