Rapper, 'Gucci Mane's tattoo of an ice cream cone with lightning bolts shooting out of it does not exactly communicate a clear message. Upon viewing this tattoo, the majority of our society would either laugh or start to think the person is insane. This Directly results from our society generally rejecting the idea of a face tattoo in collaboration with the perception that ice cream does not relate with lightning bolts nor have any deep meaning.
The message this tattoo communicates is really dependent on the viewer. A child may think this tattoo is playful and comical, as the idea of ice cream on your face resembles the humor of a child. While, an adult or mature viewer would try to find logic in a tattoo, however there does not seem to be any logic in the idea of a face tattoo of an ice cream cone with lightning bolts. Generally when someone does not see any logic in a idea, they immediately reject it, which in turn blocks any message that is being directed at the viewer. The message I get out of it is that he doesn't want people to care about his image and just focus on the music, or to take this even further, to not focus on the image of any musical artist.
If he cared about his image and wanted to be respected in society, then I highly doubt he would have gotten this tattoo. He is really showing is lack of concern for society's views on public images, and trying to be different in a world where people share the same (or similar) values of society. At the very least, his tattoo is original and different from what people expect. Also, in the world of rappers, tattoos are very common and usually display some sort of toughness. I think this ice cream tattoo does a good job at displaying his originality or desire to be different from societal expectations, and even other rappers like him.
