Dat Ink

tattoos often have an unfortunate stigma attached to them.  people who have tattoos are sometimes viewed as dangerous or questionable characters. i find this pretty unfortunate because a lot of the time tattoos are used to remember an event or commemorate loved ones. This image is a stereotypical image of a tattoo. Its the classic "mom" inside a heart which is often used to represent ones love for their mom. usually something like this would probably say that the person with this tattoo loves their mom but some people who dont see tattoos for what they often are, a tribute. also a problem with tattoos is how personal they are. At first glance most tattoos may be impossible to identify what they represent. to any passerby a tattoo may be extremely strange and and possibly even vulgar because of this people with tattoos acquire many misconceptions. Despite all that tattoos are ubiquitous in some cultures they are almost required while in others they are forbidden but even so its tough to walk 10 feet without seeing them. Some people feel that going through the pain of getting one is almost a way of honoring the person or thing they are getting it for. tattoos are not only an expression of respect or love but they are just as often an expression of art. people also get tattoos in an attempt to beautify themselves or display things they think are beautiful. there are many examples of tattoos as body art. unfortunately lots of companies and employers think tattoos and body art are undesirable things and people are discriminated against because of them. lastly tattoos can serve as inspiration. to cite a personal example a friend of mine has the words "carpe diem" on her foot so whenever she finds herself looking down she remembers to look up to brighter things.
