In today's world there are so many different ways people can express themselves, and getting tattoos is becoming a very popular method. However, I would say it is not an appropriate way of doing something, for example the image above does nothing for this person, it is a mathematical equation. Maybe by a chance it is an accomplishment he made and wanted to have it on his body for his whole life, but that is extremely unnecessary. If you want something to be displayed on your body for the public to see it should be something everyone will know. Otherwise choose another way to commemorate something rather than ruin the face of your body.
To many people tattoos have become a representation of crime, or "bad guys" because of the significance of many people that commit crimes have them. Depending on the choice of the tattoo can commemorate many different things, but they are all something that people tend to look down upon. Even my grandfather regrets getting the tattoos he has while he was in the army. So when it comes to personal choice I feel that tattoos are unnecessary and are only out there for people that have nothing else to do. A majority of my position of this choice is from my family. Whereas other families in different cultures have a different mindset.
On another note there is a much more cultural side behind tattoos that become parts of religion. The people involved with these cultures are brought up with the whole idea of receiving this symbols for when they reach manhood or accomplish a major task. They are not subject to the ways of society and believe in what they know. These types of tattoos are given in honor and respect where as the public gets tattoos as a novelty.
At the end of the day it is all to each his own. If someone feels like getting a tattoo that is completely up to them and they should not care about what other people think.
